Our Directors act as Trustees to Citylife and meet 3-4 times a year to discuss the Society. Their wealth of experience help us govern the Citylife ethos, priorities and key projects as well as help us develop new business opportunities.
Professor Ram Gidoomal, CBE, CCMI, FRSA
Chairman
Ram has over twenty years' experience of working within the private, public and voluntary sectors at both board and senior management level. He is a Freeman of the City of London; Vice President of The Shaftesbury Society; Court Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute. In 2002 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Law by Bristol University.
Steve Mather
Neighbourhoods and Regeneration Director, Places for People
Steve is the Neighbourhoods and Regeneration Director at Places for People, one of the UK’s largest property management and development companies which manages in excess of 60,000 homes. He is responsible for ensuring the long term sustainability of the Groups existing neighbourhoods, placemaking and place management in new neighbourhoods and developing and delivering new products, services and partnerships.
Prior to joining Places for People, Steve was the Economic Development Director at New East Manchester, one of the first Urban Regeneration Companies. A key part of the role was to maximise the local economic benefit from the development of new facilities and the hosting of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Steve’s work has been acknowledged nationally, the Groups activity to tackle worklessness was awarded the coveted “Gold Award” in 2008 and Steve was shortlisted in the 2009 Regeneration and Renewal Awards for ‘Leadership in Regeneration’.
Paul Doye
Former Director of Charterhouse Bank and Charterhouse Corporate Finance.
Charles Rosenmeyer
Consultant, CMS Cameron Mckenna - London
In April 2009 Charles Rosenmeyer retired as a partner of 30 years standing in the firm's real estate team. Prior to his retirement he was the UK and European head of the CMS Hotels and Leisure Group and the London partner leading the firm's European Real Estate Practice. He remains as a consultant, advising clients and the firm on special projects.
Isla Smith
Director and Trustee
Isla had a 24 year career as a commercial tax lawyer with Norton Rose, where she was a partner and a member of its management. Since changing career in 2004 she is and has been a non executive director of a number of commercial companies. Currently Isla is Chair of Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity that funds innovative breast cancer research and is also a trustee of Resources Africa UK, a charity that promotes sustainable natural resource conservation in Southern Africa.
