Liberating the creative talent of the former Welsh Coalfields

How the Bond will work

This Social Investment Bond is an innovative charitable instrument which, instead of paying interest to investors, will use the money to set up a new Awards Scheme of grants enabling people to nurture their creative talents.

The Awards Scheme will be funded by the creation of a Social Investment Bond – technically known as a ‘zero coupon bond’. The Bond doesn’t pay interest to investors, but instead uses the interest it earns to fund the Awards Scheme. This Welsh Coalfields Bond will be held under trust by the Principality Building Society and supported by an underlying bank guarantee. Bondholders’ investments are returned to them in full (i.e. at par) after a period of five years.

Support us today - The Welsh Coalfields Bond allows you to invest your money in a project where you can engage with your investment and witness the results of helping people from the Coalfields area.

The message is simple – give to charity and get your money back five years later.
