Housing Associations to benefit from the Bond
The money raised from the Bond will be used as a loan to Rhondda housing association and other housing associations to finance various housing schemes in Wales. The interest paid by them will then be used to fund the Awards Scheme.
Overall investment into the former Coalfields area becomes even greater when you consider how many people will be helped through these housing charities.
Rhondda Housing Association is a community based, housing association with over 1,450 homes in Rhondda Cynon Taff, representing an investment of over £60 million in the county borough. We only work in Rhondda Cynon Taff, one of the most deprived boroughs in Wales, where over 80,000 people or 1/3 of the population live in deprived communities. Only operating in this one borough gives us a vested interest in the regeneration of the area and we are committed to working in partnership with others to help improve the quality of life in the borough. This is why we have been working with Citylife and Coalfields Regeneration Trust to develop the Bond to help create opportunities, for people in our communities.
